Day 4

This is but one example of the determination we saw while walking around Christchurch. They are being very creative with space, materials, social needs, trading and diversity. Some said it would take more than 20 years for them to rebuild...To see blocks and blocks of what looks like perfectly normal housing marked for demolition due to liquefaction is both shocking and depressing; such a long road ahead. Two years ago these shopfronts were closed - now vibrant and working!
